QUANTITY MARK NIVM
The label, ‘Safe & Responsible Martial Arts’ provides a positive and familiar image to new members, parents and local partners. This label, from the Netherlands Institute for Martial Arts and Society (NIVM), is awarded to associations and gyms for martial arts activities that meet the requirements in terms of pedagogical and didactic quality, social and physical safety and responsibility as stated below.
a. With the label, the club prominently shows that it endorses the martial arts code of honor.
The martial arts code of honor is as follows: “Fighting only happens on the mat or in the ring, and never in the street. The techniques you are taught should only be used in defense of yourself or others. You should never use your fighting techniques against someone who cannot defend themselves. Honor, loyalty and fidelity are more important than any fighting technique, graduation or title.”
b. The aim of the label is to provide an accessible way to inspect clubs on the various organizational components.
It is a basis for further growth towards a full Fight Right Quality Mark. The implementation of the quality mark can be read on the website www.vechtsportenmaatschappij.nl.
