Self-defense for children aged 5 to 12
FunFightFit, a unique and complete self-defense program
For young children Bart van de Wiel, owner and founder of Krav Maga The Hague, has devised and developed a special training methodology. He has given this method the name FunFightFit. In this method he has combined elements from judo, Krav Maga, Krav Maga kids and the ‘Rock and Water’ training to form a unique, fully formed life skills and self-defense program for children.
One of the most important elements in this program is the fun factor. Fun during the lessons will ensure that the children train longer with us and develop a love for sport in general and martial-arts in particular. They learn the basic skills that come with it, such as clearing up, listening, not giving up too quickly, dealing with winning and losing, organizing and working together.
More confident and defensible children With our lessons
FunFightFit ‘self-defense for children in The Hague’ children are (more) able to defend themselves if necessary; they can fend off bullies (bullies) and keep themselves more easily at school and beyond. If children can do this, they feel much more confident and they are stronger and more resilient in life. They also increase their coordination, strength, flexibility and condition in a natural, fun and effective way. All skills and qualities that help children to go through life happily.

The foundation of FunFightFit
FUN
The high ‘fun factor’ is decisive for our interpretation of self-defense lessons for children. The lessons are physical, fast, challenging and always contain fun forms of play. Child (ren) come to the training with pleasure and quickly progress.
FIGHT
With the Krav Maga Kids system and judo techniques as starting points, children learn to defend themselves. They become more aware of how brave and strong they can be, often much more than they think possible. The FunFightFit lessons are aimed at children quickly experiencing success and feeling how their resilience increases.
Every lesson they learn to deal with threats from peers and adults. They learn realistic and feasible strategies against various forms of threat. Think of bullying by peers, situations and cocking behavior. And in threatening situations by adults, for example, anti-kidnap techniques, where they can get help and how they can prevent dangerous situations.
FIT
While the children learn to defend themselves, they also work to increase their strength, condition and flexibility. In this way they remain fit and healthy in an enjoyable way, an important principle of the FunFightFit-method. Even after the training we work on awareness about being fit and healthy by giving all students a piece of fresh fruit. We keep sweets, sports and energy drinks away as much as possible.
